I’ve seen many versions of this card on Pinterest throughout the years. I had saved it to my To Make Someday board. My husband is a talented musician who plays, among other instruments, guitar so naturally I thought I’d make it for him at some point. But today my daughter said she was in need of a card for her boyfriend whose birthday is tomorrow. This is the one she asked me to make. The two cards I CASEd were this one from Paula Reid at YellowBearStamping.com and another from a blog site that is no longer in use, sadly. I really love the patterned paper used in that last one!
The guitar body is free-drawn onto brown textured card stock. I used my smallest three nesting circles to create the opening. The bridge is made using tiny silver brads I had on hand, and the strings are strands from silver metallic embroidery floss. Attaching those strings was the fussiest part of the project but, in the end, I am really pleased with how it came out.
Happy Birthday, Jed, and here’s to you for inspiring my first post on Creative Cardistry!
